Food & confectionery

Boxes for chocolate, Turkish delight, biscuits and speciality food that protect the product and look appetising on the shelf.

Food & confectionery

The first question in food packaging is whether the box touches the product directly. If it does, board and inks must be chosen accordingly; most often the product goes into an inner pack first and then into the outer box. We settle this at the start of the project.

In gift food, the box is part of the product: rigid lid-and-base boxes or windowed cartons show the product and speed up the buying decision.

We plan space for mandatory text — ingredients, allergens, producer details — from the beginning, so the design never has to be squeezed at the last minute.

Materials & finishes

Materials and finishes to consider

We help you choose the board and finishes that suit your product, budget and brand — and say plainly when a finish is not worth its cost.

Material

SBS board

White, smooth board. Common for cosmetics and food cartons where vivid print and crisp detail matter.

Material

Duplex board

Board with a white front and grey back. A more economical option; the inside of the box looks grey.

Material

Kraft board

A natural brown look. Printed colours appear darker and warmer on kraft.

Material

Micro-flute (E / F)

A thin fluted board, light but strong. Ideal for mailer boxes and can be printed inside.

Material

Corrugated board (B / C)

Thicker fluted board for shipping cartons, with higher stacking and transport strength.

Material

Wrapped rigid board

Rigid boxes made by wrapping thick board in coated or textured paper. Prestigious and long-lasting.

Finish

Matt / gloss lamination

A thin film over the print protects the surface. Matt looks calmer, gloss more vivid.

Finish

Soft-touch lamination

Gives a velvety, silky feel. A favourite for premium cosmetics and gift boxes.
